Sine Language – episode 122

Happy new year!
A quick mention of our holiday cruise (blog and pictures start here),
an e-mail from Steve Filmer regarding a couple of articles on NPR;
this one on the loudness wars, inluding this great pdf,
and this on one the average level of TV commercials,
a quick mention of James Cameron’s epic, Avatar,
and the final segment (I guess?) on vocal recording, including hung mics and signal structure. I know I’ve covered signal structure in the past, but am having issues finding which episode that was in. If anyone knows off the top of their head, drop me an e-mail, would ya, please? Cheers! :)

Sine Language – episode 113

In ep 113, a bit of a discussion on patchbays,
Michael Rooney’s AATranslator software,
Peachey wanted to know about how to lay out the audio for a film mix,
somebody liked my Muggshot commercial and wanted to know about de-breathing techniques,
the Loudness War awareness campaign is reaching mainstream (with a Facebook group supporting an end to the madness),
a new album WITH dynamics caught me by surprise,
and Yuli Mitsner alerted us to a Mac app called Max (which sounds like the Mac equivalent of dbpoweramp) for converting audio files from one format to another.
