Alex is a journalist and technology evangelist. He has a very keen and passionate interest in consumer and small business technologies and truly lives an immersive digital lifestyle. This means Alex not only uses all of the latest digital technologies such as a flat screen TV, different smartphones, an Internet telephone (VoIP), a necklace-style mp3 player, a digital camera, a DVD recorder, notebook and handheld computers, a smart watch, a USB pocket hard drive and more gadgets and gizmos on a daily basis, he also works from anywhere, thanks to liberal use of the latest wireless Internet access cards that plug into the side of your notebook computer. This way Alex stays connected to the Internet, his email and can work from virtually anywhere, whether at home, interstate and even overseas.

Blessed with a visionary father, Alex received his first computer at the tender age of four in 1979. This was the beginning of Alex's amazing technological journey over the last 25 years. He always had an interest in the media, and was lucky enough to work on radio, free-to-air and pay television, Internet streaming media, newspapers and magazines over the past decade. TV programs Alex has appeared on include Internet Bright Ideas (as co-host), Channel 10 news, Today Tonight, Sky News, 60 Minutes, Room For Improvement (as technology host) and the Today Show (as technology contributor). He has also been a judge for a range of Internet and technology awards events in Australia, as well as working with a number of different technology companies including Kidz.Net and the Federal Government’s NetAlert program.

Alex continues to work in the IT and media space, testing, using, reporting on and teaching about the latest technologies. This is matched by an ever growing consumer demand for all technologies along with the growing sophistication of convergence which continues to bring us all truly useful and affordable technologies that are markedly changing our lives for the better.

Alex is currently the Editor of Free Access Magazine, writes for FHM, Appliance Retailer, Empire and Total Image, co-hosts two radio shows on ABC NewsRadio (WebWatch and Cool Stuff), co-hosts a tech segment on ABC Queensland Regional Drive, and writes for a technology news website.
