Adobe decided to stop depeloping Adobe Audition

True or False?

Well, officially, no. There is no statment that says that (like LiveMotion, GoLive, Pagemaker and FreeHand). But, since 2007 there is no Audition 4 and 5, but they seem very content with their Audio toy called Soundbooth. Why a Hollywood audio producer will change their Pro Tools HD set for Soundbooth? Just because you can open an audio direct on After Effects or Premiere? So, anyway, that´s so sad. Thanks to god, after they release their suite CS5, maby, and there is only a maby, Adobe pay attention on us, wich i doubt, they don´t really care. We, as audio profesionals, probably need to move on to Pro Tools or Sony Vegas and Soundforge.

It´s sad, because Audition, even in version 3.0.1, it´s more powerfull than those tools.

I know, Adobe as a huge corportation, messure the impact on that, and they say, let´s do the Soundbooth thing, then we´ll move on.

The light of hope is shown to us because it´s not oficial yet, there is not statment, but the forums and other stuff are abbandoned, well practicly.

I hope that the Adobe gods hear us.

The long pause between drinks can largely be laid at the feet of Soundbooth.
As you know, SB got an update along with the rest of CS5. As part of the Creative Suite, it had to. But that meant that the development of the next version of Audition had to take a back seat.
You know I cannot divulge information about the future of the product, but I will say that Adobe have most definitely NOT abandoned us.

Bruce doesn't need to disclose this because it's on Adobe's web site...

http://blogs.adobe.com/labs/archives/2010/06/adobe_audition.html

The title says. "Adobe Audition for Mac in development for Winter 2010 beta release!"

So this seems to indicate some major momentum for this product. Since my most recent computer purchase was a Mac, Winter 2010 can't come soon enough!
